CoganWorks’ mission is to help small business owners maximize their business’s potential by strengthening their financial knowledge and giving them the necessary tools to be successful.
Alison C. Cogan is a certified public accountant with over 15 years of experience in small business accounting and consulting, as well as corporate and individual tax preparation.

CoganWorks provides quality, personalized financial services to individuals and small businesses in the Morris County New Jersey area. Alison C. Cogan’s experience is unique in that she combines both public accounting experience along with personal experience of having run a child care center with over 15 employees. As the principal owner, she has personally managed all aspects of running a small business. Therefore, she has a unique advantage over other CPA’s in knowing what owners need in place to run their businesses efficiently and successfully. Her expertise ranges from basic day to day accounting services to controllership, cash flow and budgeting analysis and preparation of financial and tax reports. She will take the time to ensure that you, the business owner, understand how each function correlates with your business.
For individuals, CoganWorks provides not only tax planning and 1040 preparation, but also budgeting, organization and income and expense tracking services for personal finances. We counsel individuals so that they understand their finances and tax returns. Personal attention and service are primary reasons why clients return each year.

Although short term projects are always welcomed and accepted, we aim to establish long-term relationships with clients. Alison C. Cogan, CPA
Alison has been involved in public accounting since 1994. She has a B.S. in Accounting from Seton Hall University. Alison is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA). She is licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey. Alison started her accounting career with a ‘Big Six’ firm moving to two local public accounting firms before founding CoganWorks. Alison’s experience includes rendering audit, tax accounting and advisory services to small businesses and individuals. Her client list includes service professionals, non-profit organizations and high net worth individuals.
Alison and her husband live in Parsippany, NJ. They have five children.
